Decent story about a serial killer who leaves a trademark wine glass at each murder scene. Starts out with revealing who the murderer is and his motivation for killing these women, but not much more about him after that. No four-letter words that I can recall, and no sappy romances to drag down the story. Good plot and nicely paced, but the characters were mostly one-dimensional and the conversations were often quite hokey. And the clues came gift-wrapped at just the right times to save the day. Overall, I felt as if I was reading the screenplay from a 70's or 80's police drama. Good but not great. Although not very deep, it was still interesting enough that I wanted to keep reading. That being said, I more than likely will read at least another of this series, as I now know what to expect.

I read this book in a couple of hours because it was all action; no descriptions of scene or deep probing of character to slow you down. The ending was very predictable because we knew who the killer was from the prologue.
Good to read a book in which the main character was a Christian who interacted with the real world as a detective. No stomach churning violence descriptions and for once none of the characters was bent on having sex with anyone with a pulse. I will read more of this type of story from this author.
The killer didn't stop with the murder of the female who hurt his feelings. He continued to humiliate and torture innocent females whose major crime is selling their bodies for another's pleasure. Then he killed them without a glimmer of guilt. But then, he made a huge mistake. He kidnapped a pregnant detective who resembled the others. Her partner refuses to stop searching for her before she becomes another victim. This is a good story line and holds your interest from beginning to end.
Another great Christian mystery form John Dalgish! Jason and his partner, Vanessa are called into investigate the murders, as a killer waits in the shadows! Who will he kill next? Where will he strike next?
A serial killer killing women who resemble each other. Being grabbed by a perpetrator is everyone's fear. That is what is so gripping about this tale. The dialogue is good. The main characters are good, but most of all the increasing intensity is what makes this a good read and probably would be a good tv show!

I have finished the entire series and have nothing but praise for every one of them! It’s wonderful to have an author who doesn’t rely on bad language for “realism” yet peaks interest in both plot and characters. Excellent series; endearing characters; great reads.
The plot was predictable, the only question being if the bad guy would be killed or captured. The biggest reason for a 2-star is the grammar and editing. Editing doesn't turn good writing into bad, so I have to blame the author, the wellspring of the mistakes.

And, sir, for God's sake, it is "toward," not "towards."
I must say I am really enjoying this series! The stories are absorbing and the main characters are likeable (other than the villain). The stories do not have filthy language or steamy sex scenes that ruin so many of the writings in this genre.

This story involves a killer who seeks women that look strikingly similar. He leaves his victims leaning against a tree, and there is a wine glass at the scene. But why? Why the wine glass? Why these women? And who is he?

Unfortunately, Detective Strong's partner fits the victim's profile, and she has been taken captive. Can Jason solve this mystery in time to rescue his partner? Or will she be his next victim? Hurry, Jason. He has a time table and the clock is ticking.....
